Our Route:  We flew to Vientiane, the Lao capital, from Hanoi, Vietnam.  We spent just a couple of days in Vientiane before flying to Luang Prabang ("Louangphrabang" on the map above).  We spent one ideal week in Luang Prabang before flying to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
